24 Premiere!

Tonight is the long-awaited season premiere of “24.” My husband got me hooked on the show a few years ago, and initially, it really was filled with great twists and turns, and a plot that wouldn’t let you go. Anything that you’d rarely see in a novel (e.g. the heroine being killed off)–well, it would happen in 24. The only person safe was Jack Bauer, the hero. Everyone else? About a 9 out of 10 chance they’d get killed. Sometimes by Jack. You just never knew. There’s more testosterone in that show than a can of baked beans.

I can’t even keep track of all the casualties. It’s at the point where it’s almost campy. Someone sneaks up on Jack? Bam! Blown away. :rambo: And every time they’re near the bad guys, they “set up a perimeter.” Which means that it will fail and bad guys get away. Every. Single. Time. We even joked about it in our household. If a toddler was on the loose–”Quick, set up a perimeter!” Oh wait, that doesn’t work.

So tonight, I am gleefully awaiting the campy violent fun. What about you? Planning to watch?

I don’t think this is the season premiere. Just a movie to tide us over until the season premiere. I think. I won’t swear to it, though. *g*

Have you ever noticed how many people get shot in the thigh? At least one per episode!

And if you really want to have fun, watch it while blogging on Dave Barry’s blog! It’s loads of fun!

Okay, I just did some googling. Tonight’s movie is an intro to January’s start of “Day 7″.

We DVR’d it and will likely watch it tonight. Yay! :rambo:

We TiVoed it (how hilarious–more new words for new technology…) and my husband will probably watch it soon (after all the football ;) ) I’m going to see if they recap it on Television Without Pity, because I’m an absolute wimp and flee from the room any time the suspenseful music comes on. But I do love the snarky little recaps… :rambo:
