Not quite ready for the holidays, thank you
On Friday, I discovered that my Dell power cord wasn’t working any more. I had about 31 precious minutes of laptop time left, and I thankfully was able to do an online chat with a Dell representative and get that replaced. It definitely makes you pick and choose how you’re going to use your power! I ended up writing longhand for a while and then typing it in later. :typing:
Now, I have my spanking new power cord and all is right with the world. I’m cranking along on Ewan’s book (hit page 240 just now) and am hoping to have that sent off to my editor next month.
Family-wise, my six-year-old continues to amuse me. He keeps writing little notes that I find all over the house. The recent one was a note to Santa. He reminded Santa that he wore a size 7 (he wants a Batman shirt) and ended the letter with a chirpy, “See you at the store!” I love his enthusiasm and beautiful imagination.
But I’ve got to say, I’m not QUITE ready for the Christmas season. A local radio station is already playing the non-stop carols, and I’ve switched the station. Too soon!! After Thanksgiving—bring it on!
mastree: But right now, I want to relax, think turkey thoughts, and imagine what sorts of pies I’m going to make. I love Christmas, but it’s gotten harder to enjoy, now that I feel like I’m in charge of it all. Decorations? Check. Baking? Check. Shopping? Check. Gift-wrapping? Yup. You get the idea. One year, I did all my shopping on Black Friday, wrapped the gifts on Saturday, and sat back to enjoy the rest of the holiday season. It was wonderful. I’m tempted to do it again, if I can get my act together.
What about you? Are you ready for the holiday season, or are you burying your head and ignoring it?
