Black Friday Fun
I may be slightly insane, but I’m actually thinking of going out shopping today. I have a lunch date with my friend Deb Marlowe who has a book out right now An Improper Aristocrat and it just sounds like pure fun. Basically Indiana Jones comes into Regency England. Doesn’t that sound like an exciting read? We’re having lunch, and then I’ll have her sign my copy.
So, since I’m venturing out into the wilds of crazy shoppers who simply MUST run each other over to get that last copy of a DVD for $3.99, I may look around for some wii paraphenalia. We played Mario Kart at my brother-in-law’s, and I’m thinking that might be a fun one for the kids. I’ve actually done a bit of shopping for the kids already so I’m feeling pretty relaxed.
I made Thanksgiving dinner yesterday for my in-laws (I cooked, they cleaned–what’s not to like?) and enjoyed spending time with my 10-year-old niece. She had never really cooked before, and it was such fun to teach her how to butter a turkey, chop veggies, make meringue for the pies, and so on. I know it sounds silly, but cooking with kids is really such a great chance to bond because you talk while you work.
Did you have a Happy Thanksgiving? Are you going out shopping today? I don’t know about you, but there’s a piece of pie with my name on it…
