Choosing a Halloween Costume
It’s Columbus Day and everyone is home except my son, who had school today. Poor kid.
I’ve been balancing my time between writing the new book and working on revisions on Wedded to the Enemy. My blessed editor found a few more tweaks that need to be made, so I’m working on those in the evenings. Now that I’m staying home, it’s hard to figure out how long it takes me to write a book. It used to be 5-6 months, but I’m thinking it’ll be shorter this time around. Normally I can only work on one book at a time, but I’m afraid if I stop writing the new book, I’ll lose track of where I am and what I’ve written. So, I’ll give it a shot, trying to work on two books at the same time. Here’s hoping.
The kids asked me what I was going to be for Halloween. “A really mean mommy,” I told them. They stared at me and said, “But Mom, what are you going to dress up as?”
(You know, because I’m already mean, every day of the year…
)
What about your kids? What will they be for Halloween? Or if you don’t have kids, what was your favorite costume as a kid? For me, it was being Miss Piggy.

A friend of mine gave me a Snow White dress that her daughter outgrew, so that is what Alison will dress as. We won’t take her trick or treating, probably just to a church harvest party, but she will just look adorable.
Zach is too old for costumes or trick or treating, so he just wants to go hang out at a friend’s house and scare the little kids who come to the door.
I used to tell all my co-workers when they asked what I was dressing as, “An overworked, underpaid, tired Mommy.”

Between those two and Sweet Baby, you have a Toxic Level of Cuteness in your house! How do you possibly ever punish those adorable children who obviously do no wrong, you mean mommy?

One of my dogs will be dressed as a cow. The other will be a butterfly.

My favorite costume growing up was a black cat.
Middle girl wants to be a Vintage Fairy. I kid you not. What the blazes THAT is…is anyone’s guess. But she thinks she’s wearing fishnets. *snort* As if.
Oldest girl wants to possibly pull some sort of “cape” costume thing. Heaven knows.
Youngest girl hasn’t a clue.
*sigh*
I hate shopping for costumes.

My favorite costume for DD was either the year she was a princess or the year she was Minnie Mouse. Your kids are precious!!!
Fedora Says:
Too cute, Michelle! My kids are slated to be: Mickey Mouse (we have a costume that still fits–barely), a fairy princess, and undetermined. And your costume sounds a lot like the one I wear every day, too…

My stepson is going to be Darth Vader and daughter is going to be a cheerleader this year.
Hubby and I do dress up since we mostly only drive around to different family members houses because we live out in the country. Last year I was a glam vamp. This year I might disguise my mean momma under an 80’s big hair, lots of makeup, bangle bracelets and big earrings, off the shoulder sweatshirt with a tank under it and shorts with leggings and flats.
One of my favorite costumes when I was younger was the year I dressed up as Texas business man with a suit, cowboy hat and boots for a small party at my apartment. The guy I was seeing at the time wouldn’t have a thing to do with me till I came out of the costume and make up. LOL Said I passed too well for a man. Haha!
