Thanks to everyone who entered. I’ve decided to do a “second chance” drawing, and here’s how it will work. Today through Thursday, stop by any time and post a comment. I will choose a random day and random comment to be Friday’s winner for a free book of your choice!
Last night was er….interesting. I was feeding my baby son his evening bottle, winding him down for the night. He burped, and because he’s been teething a lot, I’ve been giving him Motrin to help him sleep at night. I was in the process of measuring the medicine, when whoa! Exorcist baby! He tossed his cookies all over me and all over the kitchen floor. No idea why that happened, whether he was coming down with a virus or something went down the wrong way. But it wasn’t exactly how I planned to spend my evening. Yuck.
Thank heavens I wasn’t still sitting on the couch.
In other news, I’ve bitten the bullet and have started Atkins. When two weeks of biking every night for two miles didn’t do anything for my metabolism and weight loss, I decided that clearly I need to mess things up a bit. It’s strange…last time I had my daughter, I hit this same problem. It was as if, no matter what I did, I couldn’t lose the weight. But once I cut out all sugar and went on the low carb diet, it kickstarted my metabolism. I have no idea why, but it seems that 3-4 days of misery are enough to get things going. After that, I was able to go back to just moderate diet and exercise, and I continued to lose the weight.
So, I am doomed to celery and peanut butter for a while, and a great deal of eggs and meat in my future. But hey, if it works, I can suffer through it.
Because you know what my real motivation is? Halloween is coming….
I am an absolute lover of candy corn. How about you? What’s your favorite candy? (and have you noticed that as soon as you get rid of the Halloween treats, Christmas candy shows up…then Valentines Day…then Easter? No wonder it’s hard to look great in a bikini when you have three children and all that candy hanging around…
