You blink and then they’re five
My baby is nine months old today. No, he tries to eat electrical cords. He can remove a metal spring doorstop and will attempt to teethe upon it. He’s fascinated with shoelaces and can crawl across the room in a microsecond. Today he tried stairs. It didn’t go very well, but thankfully it was only one tread and I caught him.
So I’m waxing nostalgic, but doesn’t it seem that you do this for your children all the time? You step back, let them attempt to spread their wings even when they can be hurt, and you catch them when they fall. You laugh with them when they find bubbles hilarious, and you hold them tight when they cry.
He’s my last baby. And even though I’ll love the convenience of him being a child, I’m going to miss these days.

I wake up every day trying to figure out how to keep from blinking.
They really do grow up so fast.
Suzanne Says:
You could always just have another one!!

Funny, I was going to say the same thing as Suzanne. Guess I better run too.

Nooooooo! The shop is closed!

Today I held a three hour old little guy…and remembered the sweet hours I spent holding my two, just watching them sleep.
One day, they’re all scrunchyfaced and jaundiced– the next day, you’re getting them ready to start seventh grade on Monday!
Time flies.

And then you blink again and they’re off to college. Waaah!

He is so adorable. I hope he stays off the stairs.
I swear, Fecklet has grown up in about two seconds. Right now he is talking about all your animated smilies on the “leave comments” page. “Oooh, bubbles!” “Running!” “Funny!”
