Why Grandmas are the Best

1. They believe that there’s nothing wrong with chocolate for breakfast.
2. They can play checkers, Candyland, and cards with the kids all while balancing a baby and planning dinner.
3. They don’t mind when I isolate myself in Starbucks for five hours and revise 100 pages.
4. Grandmas love your children as much as you do.

I have about 100 pages left to revise and 3,000 words more to add, in order to bring my wordcount back up. Can I revise 100 pages in 3 days? It’s doable, as long as my characters cooperate.

I had coffee and a sugar cookie for breakfast. Feeling a little jittery at the moment, but I’ve made my way through almost 30 pages so far. The goal is to do 44 more pages today.

One Real ManI just bought two books yesterday that I’m holding over my head as rewards. One Real Man by Jan Kenny which I’m really looking forward to. Jan writes such fabulous westerns, I can’t wait to try out her cowboy.

Mistress in PrivateAnd then there’s my friend Julie’s new book Mistress in Private. Julie writes funny, upbeat books that are just so much fun to read. Apparently this book involves surfing on an ironing board. Can’t wait to try it!

What are you reading at the moment? I just finished Blood Brothers by Nora Roberts and it was scaring the bejeezus out of me. Good book but it probably wasn’t a good idea to read it right before bed.

Seducing the Mercenary by Loreth Ann White. It’s a bi-racial couple but that part of it is never brought up as a plot point. I thought it was fabulous.

  2. Tori Lennox Says:

    I’ve been reading Agatha Christie.

Grandmas are the best, aren’t they? Even though I don’t need my mom for kid wrestling anymore.

I’m actually not reading any fiction right now, I’m in the middle of a heavy duty photography book. I’m sure I’ll have a fiction one started within the next day or two though.

Good luck on the revision….you can do it!

Grandma’s are the greatest and I don’t know what I’d do without mine…

My grandmother is my savior and hero. She’s been there for me when I had given up on everyone else.

I’ve been reading Jeaniene Frost, Half to The Grave (she has a new book coming out this moth…woo hoo), Kerrelyn Sparks, Jenna Black, and Karen Chance. I know they are all urban fantasy but thats okay. The new book I’ve been working on secret is an urban fantasy.

  5. Lexi Connor Says:

I’m reading the ARC of Laura Griffin’s One Wrong Step. Good story, but not enough hours in the day to read it like I want!

Good luck with your revisions! We know you can do it.

  6. Kelly Boyce Says:

Thanks for the heads up on the western! I’ll keep an eye out for it this payday. I can never find enough good westerns for my liking. Good luck with the 100 pages, you can do it!

  7. Missie Says:

Grandmas Rock! I cannot wait until I am one. My grandkids are gonna love me, while my children and children-in-laws are probably going to want to commit me. :rotf:

p.s. Send your luscious  baby to me. I will spoil him for a few days and give you a chance to finish writing. Of course, I will send him back. Of course I will…

I dearly love grandmas! I’m reading Christina Dodd’s paranormal, Touch of Darkness. Good luck with finishing the book.

I have so many books in my tbr pile that I’m waffling about what to read next. Just ordered all of Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau series (vampire) and just received, via Amazon.ca, one of Kerrelyn Sparks’ vampire books. Plus most of my Silhouette Nocturne’s remain unread, I have a slew of Suspense, Presents, Blaze, miscellaneous to read….Aggh!

Good luck with your revisions; you go, girl! We know you can do it. :cheer:
