Stubborn children
It occurred to me last night that this child is mocking me.
Unborn baby: Ha. You think you can make me come out? I don’t think so. I get all my meals whenever I want, I’m warm and cosy, and I get the side benefit of snuggle time.
Me: (quoting Lady MacBeth) Out, d*mn’d spot! Out, I say!
Unborn baby: Mwuahahahaha….
If anyone wants to add to the baby pool, just post in either of the two blog entries below.
Still working on revisions, though it’s getting harder and harder to concentrate. My goal today is to go off the Internet for a few hours and line edit my little brain out. Maybe a trip to Starbucks would be in order…self-bribery, don’tcha know.
In other bits of randomness, I went to tuck in my son last night. I have a nightly habit of checking on the kids after they’re asleep, because I used to find them curled up under the bed, or in strange sleeping positions. Last night my boy was completely asleep, with socks on both hands. Whether he was hosting sock puppet shows before bedtime or just had cold hands, I’m not sure, but I found it rather amusing. Amazingly, he didn’t wake up when I peeled both of them off (and they were up to his elbows!). A proud motherhood moment, I tell you.
Do your kids do anything weird after they go to bed? Or if you don’t have kids, was there anything you did as a child once your parents were out of the room? I used to read in bed, using whatever light I could find.
I KNOW. Big shocker there. ![]()

Lol. You find your kids under the bed? Mine are fairly normal. My daughter is one of those people who can think of sleeping and be sleep within 30 seconds. She’s out. There is not waking her until the mother. And she’s fresh as a spring flower. She did not get that from me.
My son, oh, my lovely son. I ruined him.(I breastfed) I swear he has an internal GPS system for me. If I leave him to sleep on the couch and I go to my room I’m sure to wake up in the middle of the night with him in my bed curled into my arm.

I don’t think I did anything too weird as a child. Though Mom has told me she would, on occasion, come into my room to check on me and I’d sit up and carry on a conversation, while asleep. Now, well, now I just snore. LOL.
But I used to love “camping out” and I’d often spend a week sleeping on the floor of my bedroom, on a foam camping mattress, with a sleeping bag.

I’m glad I’m not the only mom Michelle who finds their children in weird sleeping positions. I find my daughter all over the place asleep, standing up with her head on our bed, underneath her or our bed, in the floor with a blanket. One of these days I’m going to remember to go get the camera and take pictures to have as keepsakes. Hope everyone has a great day. Glad you’ve been able to get some work done.

I used to sit up in bed and act out the stories I wrote during the daylight hours.
Holly(Taryn Raye) Says:
I used to sleep walk and talk and scare my mom half to death when she’d find me standing on a chair in front of a window claiming I was trying to hang something from a hook in the ceiling! LOL
The only thing I can think of that my kids have done are talk in their sleep and once when my daughter was two or so, when her bed was still in our room, she fussed and fussed off the monitor but I refused to go check on her because she was I knew she was just fighting sleep and when it finally got quiet, I went to check on her and she was conked out behind the door, which had to be pushed into the room to open it and I had to slowly nudge her and the door in order to get in there and put her in her bed.

Fecklet roams all over his cot at night, despite being in a baby sleeping bag. I often find him with his head squashed in a corner on top of his teddies, and his butt in the air. He would take socks to bed with him if I let him; he has a sock obsession. LOL at your son.
Leaving another casserole…

I sort my clothes into piles in the hallway by the hamper. One night I went to get the next load, and my son was asleep in the pile. We don’t know why he got out of bed, or why he only got that far…..
Hope today’s the day!!!
Nell Dixon Says:
My eldest daughter sleep walks especially if she’s stressed or in a strange place but my middle daughter has been known to sleep in her clothes or to wear a hat in bed.

We have a great photo of my 2 yr old son spreadeagled under his crib, fast asleep. His sheets and pillows were torn off the bed and thrown everywhere, and all I could think was, Man, that was some party!!!

Missie Says:
My son (11.5)has always been a freak-sleeper. Once asleep, he stays that way even if I were to go into his room, turn on the light, and rearrange his closet. Nothing wakes that kid up. He also folds himself in half during his sleep. Yes, you read that right. Like a sandwich. It practically takes the jaws of life to unfold that kid once he’s like that.
He can also get up, go to the bathroom, and carry on a conversation, then go right back to sleep, never remembering any of it in the morning.
My daughter (2.5), now that she is in a toddler bed and out of baby jail, can be found sleeping behind the door or on her floor.
