Done!
The book is done! 
And here I was thinking that this baby would decide to come, now that I’d typed the last sentence. Uh, no. The child is still hanging out, in no particular hurry. Sigh.
On the bright side, I’m on maternity leave now, so I’m going to spend the week cleaning the house and working on revisions. It would be nice to e-mail the book to my editor before Thanksgiving. We’ll see how it goes. Revisions are one of those tasks that I have a hate-love relationship with. On one hand, it’s a lot easier to delete scenes and cut out unnecessary sentences when you’re no longer concerned about page count. But the toughest part is fleshing out those undercooked scenes. It’ll get there in time. I feel much more relaxed, now that the draft is done.
So, anyone want to take a guess when this child will show up? We should run a pool or something. Tell you what, the closest guess gets a copy of one of my books–your choice! Pick a day, time, gender, etc. and we’ll see who wins.

Alright…I’m going to guess that the bambino will be born on the 22nd (that’s Thanksgiving day…I figure given that there’s a holiday coming, s/he is no doubt waiting for maximum inconvenience) at 9 a.m., and I’ll guess another little girl. I’m horrible with weights/lengths, but hey, let’s say 7 lbs 14 oz and 18 inches.

I’ll say you’ll have the baby tonight, November 13th at 9:03 PM. The baby will be a boy and he’ll weigh eight pounds, six ounces and be 22 inches long.

I’m going to guess, November 24th(because of the full moon), at noonish, a boy, weighing in at 7 lbs, 9 oz and 19 1/2 inches long.

The revisions shouldn’t be too hard now. Oh the baby poll. I am going to guess Nov 17th at 7:30 pm. The baby will weigh 7lbs, 9oz, and 19 inches. I’m still wishing you happy thoughts that everything goes great.

I’m going to guess 23 November at 4 am because it’s my DH’s birthday and a month before the Fecklet’s. And 8 lbs, 2 oz, a little boy.
I bet it’ll be today or on Thanksgiving though.

Congrats on finishing the book, Michelle! So are you a first draft writer? I can’t remember though it’s probably something I should remember about you. I should I have a complete this week, but then will do a lot of rewriting before my Dec. 1st deadline.
