Head down, hands on the keyboard

Sorry again that I’ve been remiss on blogging. As I draw closer to my due date (baby, not book), I am starting to reach that phase where the current manuscript is pushing everything else aside. Since my evening time is so limited, I’ve been chaining myself to the keyboard. I have 50 pages left, maybe less, depending on how things pan out. 3 chapters left to write.

In the meantime, I’ve hit that pregnancy stage where real contractions start happening. It’s a little scary for me because I’ve never made it to a due date yet. I’ve been 2 weeks early with both kids, and even though my munchkin isn’t due until November 20th, I get a little nervous when I’m this close to month 9. If I follow my previous trends, I have 3 weeks left, instead of 5. And there’s always the possibility of an early delivery.

So, that’s the reason I’ve been so scarce. I’m in “Must. Finish. The. Book.” mode right now. :typing:

On the bright side, I found out last week that The Warrior’s Touch sold out on eHarlequin (it’s still available through Amazon or you can order it through your local bookseller). Still, I feel like I met a personal goal. :snoopy: Very exciting!

I’ve put up Patrick’s cover on my books page, if you haven’t seen it already and would like to (just scroll down). At some point, I think I need to rearrange things so the books are easier to view. Heck, I’m just happy to HAVE more books to offer! It’s so exciting, and every book is special in its way. Seeing the covers is like viewing pictures of your kids, in a way. And let me just say that Patrick was a problem-child while I was writing him. He gave me more grief than any other MacEgan. I do think he came out well in the end, but I had to really push myself as a writer.

Now if I can just keep my hands out of the candy corn bag, I’ll be in good shape… :chocolate:

    Hey Michelle!

Hope this finds you well and getting a lot done as well as getting the rest you need.

Those last few miles of the road to giving birth are a bit scary. I’ve only had one child, my daughter, who will be 5 in December. She was due on Christmas Eve, but she arrived on Friday, December 13th.(11 days early) I knew deep down that she wouldn’t come close to her due date.

You take it easy and don’t throw yourself into full blown labor too soon. Sending you lots of finishing the book vibes and thoughts and prayers in regard to keeping the contractions at bay until the time is right.

    {{hugs}}

I think I read somewhere that candy corn is good for delaying labor. ;) (I know, not helpful - but I figure if you eat more of it, that’s less that I have to deal with.)

Good luck racing to the finish! I’m looking forward to this one, too, though at least I’ll have Patrick’s story soonish. Love his cover! Yay!! You really did hit the cover goldmine!

And CONGRATULATIONS for selling out on eHarlequin!!!!

  3. Bonnie Ferguson Says:

Congrats for selling out on eHarlequin, Michelle!!! :scream:

  4. Kim A. Says:

I know you sold out on eHarlequin because I had to order “The Warrior’s Touch” from Amazon.ca. Spent almost as much in shipping as I did for the book–but it was worth it!

Good luck with the last 3 chapters, Michelle.

The new book cover is another winner!

    -Kim :-)

Wow Michelle. The cover for Patrick’s story looks fantastic. The man they have for Patrick is very sexy, moody looking. As for the last 3 chapters, don’t stress too much about it, I know you’ll get them finished on time. And congratulations on selling out on eHarlequin!!!!! I’ll keep my fingers crossed you make it til at least 38 weeks before your labor starts. :cheer: :cheer: I hear hershey kisses are good to stop contractions too. Hope everyone has a great day.

    Leanne

    Congrats on selling out!!! :snoopy:
I like the new cover, it looks great!

Congrats on selling out! Woohoo! I anticipate getting to The Warrior’s Touch by the middle of next week. I can’t wait!

Good luck finishing up the book and keeping the kid inside for a few more weeks.

I like the new cover and I totally get the vibe that he was trouble during the writing. You can feel that in your cover. (Does that sound odd?) I’m sure you were able to tame him…or, rather, you were able to get the heroine to tame him. :)
