Comfort Reads
Last week was a pretty stressful time at work, so apologies for my absence in cyberspace! This week is a little better, but I’m feeling a little bittersweet because it’s the last week that The Warrior’s Touch will be on store shelves. There’s such a thrill seeing it on a shelf that’s different from ordering online. I have one last booksigning this coming Saturday from 2:00-4:00 p.m., and then that’s it for me.
I’ve finished up a lot of the books on my To Be Read pile, and aside from drooling over the new JR Ward book which I’ll be picking up at the store this week, I’m settling into old favorite books. Sometimes I’ll read favorite romances, but this week I decided to return to an old mainstream favorite The Clan of the Cave Bear. My copy is pretty dog-eared and worn by now. I think I’ve read it at least 15 times. Another fiction favorite is The Mists of Avalon.
What about you? Aside from romance, what are some of your favorite mainstream comfort reads?

Leanne Says:
If I want something sure to scare the socks off you, I’ll take down a Stephen King novel off my book shelves.
As for The Warrior’s Touch, don’t worry Michelle. You’ll be able to see Patrick’s story on the shelves in Jan. So that’s not too long.
I tell myself that anyway cause I can’t wait to read it.
Hope everyone has a great day today.

Wow, I didn’t realize it was that late in the month! Well, I did, but just not in book terms. I’ll be picking up The Warrior’s Touch this weekend at a booksigning for some of my local chapter people.
As for favorite comfort reads, I’ve actually never read a book twice. I’ve thought about it, but only for To Kill A Mockingbird and Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander. My reasoning is there are way too many books out there I haven’t tried!
Holly Says:
Some of my favorites in other genres-
V.C. Andrews
Bobbie Ann Mason
Tanith Lee
Hope this week slows down for you a bit so you can get some much needed rest. Can’t wait till January to get Patrick’s story.
Have a great day!
Christy H. Says:
Linda Jacobs YELLOWSTONE series ~ all three books are favorites of mine
Kelly Says:
Winter’s Mantle by Elizabeth Chadwick, Anne Bishop, Back Roads by Tawni O’Dell, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, Wally Lamb, a book of poems by Leonard Cohen and probably a whole host of others I can’t think of without looking at.
Congrats on your success with The Warrior’s Touch. It’ll be sad to no longer see it on the shelves, but that’s just to make room for the next one!

Clan of the Cavebear was one of my all time favorites if not the favorite. When book 6 came out I reread the whole series (it was a while between books lol). I rarely reread either because I have so many I want to get to. I have 6 books from the Outlander series in my tbr pile but I haven’t started because I wasn’t sure if it was completed yet???
Heidi Dahlquist Says:
I have Clan of the Cavebear on my to read list. Besides romance, I read horror and fantasy some of my favorites are: The Mists of Avalon, Kelly Armstrong, Kim Harrison, Jk Rowling, Steven King, Dean Koontz and numerous metaphysical and ghost hunting books. One of my favorite magazines is Ghost Magazine.
Just an FYI, I had gone to Borders in Virginia Beach at First Colonial and Laskin Rd to buy another, The Warriors Touch, for a gift and was bummed to see they didnt stock it on the shelves.
Melissa L. Says:
Any Harlequin SuperRomance is a comfort read for me.
