Friday Giveaway!

Secrets RisingOkay, so the post about my son’s first day will have to wait a bit. (The pictures are still on the digital camera).

Today, I’m teaming up with author Suzanne McMinn and we’re both giving away signed books! I’m offering a signed copy of Suzanne’s July release Secrets Rising. Suzanne writes fabulous romantic suspense, and this one starts with the heroine digging up a skull in her rose garden. :book: Cool stuff! Just post a comment below for a chance to win. Her new book in the Haven series, A Hero’s Redemption is available now through eHarlequin, and it’ll be in stores this October.

AND…she’s giving away a signed copy of Her Irish Warrior on her blog. Just click on the link above to go visit her and post a comment. Enjoy!

Suzanne, Kacey, and me Here’s a picture of Suzanne on the left, my good friend Kacey in the middle, and myself from last year’s RWA conference. One thing you might not know is that Suzanne was one of the reasons I sold to Harlequin. She very kindly pointed out in a draft of an early book that I had forgotten to include the characters’ internal thoughts and motivations. I had completely left out the emotional journey of the love story. The proverbial light bulb didn’t just go on–it exploded in my head. I realized that I had it all backwards–the emotional conflict is the heart of a romance, and it needed my full focus. I wrote a second book where the plot was based almost entirely on two characters going through their own personal nightmares, went through substantial revisions, and sold it as Her Irish Warrior.

Hope everyone has a great Friday! If you could do anything this weekend, what would you do? :chocolate:

Curl up with a good book and relax

  2. kacey Says:

    You have cute friends

If I could do anything this weekend I’d write and read. All weekend. No housecleaning, cooking, nothing. Oh, and I’d sip on ice cold Coronas.

Hm…I might just do that this weekend.

  3. pearl Says:

Read a great novel and spend time with my husband who is always too busy.

  4. Leanne Says:

I’m like Kacey, I’d wish the house could just magically keep itself clean this weekend so I could just stay curled up on the couch and read. My Oct. books are on their way today sometime from UPS from eHarlequin. Yea!!! And among them is the first one I will grab and just sit and read, Suzanne’s A Hero’s Redemption. Oh I can’t wait. Now if it were a new one from you though Michelle too, I would have to close my eyes and have my husband mix them up and then pick one, cause I wouldn’t be able do decide, as I love both as authors. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.

    Leanne :cheer: :snoopy:

If I could do anything it would be having the ability to walk without the StupidBrace(tm). It’s annoying me beyond belief. :)

  6. Holly Says:

Oh, if I could anything this weekend it would be go up to visit my parents again(though we just did last Sunday) and then all of us go to the fleamarket in Simpsonville(KY)! I haven’t been there in forever and they have GREAT soft serve chocolate ice cream cones at the concession stands! LOL

I know that isn’t going to happen though, so my 2nd best thing to do would be to read or work on my novels without the worry of the dirty filthy house! Ack!

    Have a great weekend!

If I could do anything? I’d hop a plane and visit my brother in LA. I already have Suzanne’s book, Secrets Rising, darn! I’m reading it now and waiting for the next one. It’s a fine story. I also have your books! Oh well, maybe next time… Kaye

  8. Melissa Mc Says:

Watch movies and read some good books.

If I could do anything this weekend it would be to go to the city, stay overnight in a hotel/motel and shop; for books being one of them.

  12. Belinda Says:

Hmmm…if I could do anything, it would to do more reading too and take a break from the never ending laundry pile.

    Have a wonderful day!

  13. Nicole Reising Says:

Hi Michelle! I like how you’re both doing this! I read Suzanne’s Secret’s Rising and loved it! Now what would I do this weekend? You mean if I didn’t have a million and one things already planned between football games for both of the older boys and a Tae Kwon Do tourny??? SLEEP! :-) Ok, maybe not, I’d actually write even if I had to use toothpicks to hold my eyes open.

    Have a good one!
    Cole

  14. Susan Says:

If I could do anything this weekend I’d hide in my room and :book: uninterrupted!

  16. jeanne s. Says:

I would want to get together with my daughter and her fiancee who moved 5 hours away and with my other daughter and her boyfriend - play a few games and have a lot of laughs.

I’m a regular over at Suzanne’s but for some reason it wouldn’t let me reply on the blog - I’m hoping it’s only a temporary problem because I definitely want a chance at your book. I’m thrilled to have a chance at Suzanne’s too!

  17. Phyllis Lamken Says:

Go on a hike, read a good book, watch the Bears football game. I would not be cleaning and organizing my office for a move, packing more of my house, and cleaning both houses. But I have a good book and football to look forward to. :cheer:

  18. Estella Says:

If I could do anything I wanted I would grab a good book, a cold drink and put my feet up and read.

  19. Robyn Says:

    :book:

Read Warrior’s Touch with a nice cup of hot chocolate and my warm afghan.

  20. Lexi Connor Says:

If I could do anything this weekend I’d spend the entire weekend on one of my manuscripts instead of washing the car, cleaning the bathroom, correcting and grading papers.

  21. Nathalie Says:

Well I have worked for 24 hours today, I am a med. student so this week-end will be for sleeping and relaxing only!!

  22. Lily Says:

This week-end I want to read a good book… during the summer I have bought a lot of novels, but have read none, and the suspense is killing me!!

  23. Nat D Says:

I am going to spend time with my family… I have been working hard and have not seen them nearly enough so this week-end will be for them only :scream:

  24. Dena Says:

Try to read as much as possible, I have a huge TBR pile that never goes down,it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I’m going to have to add to it with your MacEgan books, they sounds really good.

  25. Cheryl S. Says:

Oh, I love Suzanne’s writing and I don’t have this one yet. I’m late answering this but if I could do anything over the weekend it would be much the same as everyone else — read.

  26. Jan Says:

Anything but finish writing my synopsis, lol. Good pic!
