Title help needed!

Wonderful, helpful readers… I am appealing to your greatness and grovel before you. :bow2u:

I need your honest vote here. Given the following two choices, which title would you be more likely to pick up if it were on a shelf?

Choice 1: Her Warrior King
Choice 2: Her Irish King

And for all of you anonymous readers out there who never post comments because you’re too shy, please drop in and vote! You don’t have to tell me who you are. I just need an honest assessment of which title is stronger. Apparently Her Irish Warrior has been doing fairly well and they aren’t sure if it’s because of having Irish in the title or Warrior.

Thoughts?

I like both, so I’m of no help, but I can say I picked up your book before I ever wrote to you or read your blog and I got it because of both words!

I have Irish heritage and a warrior just sounded yummy. If I absolutely HAD to pick one it would probably be Her Irish King. I replayed both over and over in my head and I still hate the thought that I chose one over the other! LOL (Of course I still liked your original title for it as well.)

Her Warrior King. Hands down. I’ll figure out that it’s Irish once I pick it up and even with how much I love Ireland…I’d rather have me an Irish WARRIOR king than just an Irish king (who may or may not be a hunky warrior.)

Convoluted, I realize. But I think warrior is going to convey hunky. Irish will come across regardless. :)

I also prefer Her Warrior King (although I like Her Irish Warrior the best lol). As Beth said, you don’t know what an Irish King could be like but the word, Warrior, gives you a heads up that he’s probably hunky lol.

    I like her Warrior King…

  5. Jean Says:

I like her Warrior King, but I’ll bet it’s the Irish in Her Irish Warrior that’s helping to sell that book, so you should probably go with Her Irish King.

  6. Missie Says:

How ’bout Her Irish Warrior King?

    No?

    Mkay. Shutting up now.

  7. Lexi Connor Says:

    Her Warrior King. Definitely.

  8. Susie Says:

I like Warrior King too. Maybe the Irish setting could be featured prominently on the book jacket.

I’m shaking my head with dismay at the hubris of marketing types. Is the book doing well because it has Irish or Warrior in the title? OR BECAUSE IT’S A GREAT STORY? Sigh. If I had to choose, I’d vote for Her Warrior King, though I think either would sell well because it’s another great story.

  10. Belinda Says:

Wow,it is hard to pick…but I would go with Her Warrior King aswell.

  11. Nicole Reising Says:

Hi Michelle! Personally I like the Her Warrior King… but either works. :)

    Hi Michelle,

I like Her Warrior King, too!

  13. Donna Says:

    Her Warrior King

Thank you guys so much for your input! This is really helpful. I e-mailed my editor and told her the majority’s decision but suggested they might fit Irish into the tagline. That may be a possibility. We’ll see what they come up with!

In the meantime, I will be biting my nails, waiting to see her decision about this book. The waiting never gets any easier! :chocolate:

  15. Courtney Hunt Says:

I personally prefer Her Irish King because I think it is more specific and appeals to the reader of Irish romances. Warrior could be any place/time.

  16. CC Says:

Okay, I over-think everything. So this is just my self-imposed first, gut instinct. I see the two books side-by-side on the shelf, no real analysis involved…Warrior King. It grabs me. The Irish King could be a droopy-drawers ole coot. But, not so of a warrier king who also happens to be Irish, though. He’s a hero. The Irish thing is a definite bonus I’ll discover once I read the back cover.

  17. cc Says:

oops…sorry about the typo Warrior not warrier (duh)

  18. Heather Says:

I like Her Warrior King. It sounds more dangerous and sexy.

  19. Melissa Says:

I’m going to have to go with Her Irish King because it kind of goes with the theme of the first book - the Irish part anyway. But I am HORRIBLE with titles.

  20. Melissa Mc Says:

Her Warrior King. No doubt about it. Much stronger than the other, IMHO.

  21. Stacy Dawn Says:

My vote is for Her Warrior King. Stronger, more forceful title.:snoopy:

  22. Tania Says:

    Her Warrior King.
