Booksigning at Turn the Page

My first booksigningFriday morning I experienced my very first book signing. It was amazing. The first big thrill was actually seeing my books in a bookstore. :snoopy: I’ll admit I was shamelessly sending brain waves to customers: Pick up my book, Go buy my book.

Then when the signing began, I was delighted to be seated next to Diane Gaston, who also writes as Diane Perkins. Both of us write for Harlequin Historicals, so we nicknamed our table the Harlequin table. I had such a wonderful time talking with the customers and readers. Since our table was right beside the door, many folks were stuck in line for several minutes, and we chatted about our favorite authors. I gave out Harlequin sparkly pens and magnets, and had a great time signing books. It was a successful signing, overall, and I sold my entire box of books. I don’t think it gets much better than that!

Diane Gaston, Nora Roberts, and me Last, here’s a picture of Diane, Nora, and myself after the signing was over. Nora is a very gracious author, and really takes the time to speak with each of her readers. I really liked her.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures! Tomorrow I’ll share a little about the WRW retreat, which was fabulous. And don’t forget, today is the last day to enter the April contest for the Mother’s Day Pampering Basket! Just e-mail me the name of the hero from Her Irish Warrior, and the heroes from Natalie Anderson’s All Night with the Boss and Donna Alward’s Hired by the Cowboy Good luck!

So if you could meet one author in person, who would it be? For me, I’d LOVE to meet LaVyrle Spencer and worship at her feet say hello.

This wasn’t my first signing but it was THE MOST FUN I ever had at a signing and that was because of Michelle. Not only was it fun just to chat with her but we were a great sales team. It was like we had honed a vaudeville act (although we were not slapstick. We had just the right touch of humor). We sold each other’s books. And Michelle (who is new, remember) thought to send to someone at Harlequin asking if she could send Harlequin pens for her to give out. The sparkly silver pens were a great gift to the people walking in the door.

The best part is, I have Michelle’s book! SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR.
    It was a blast!!

    Diane

COngrats on your book signing. What a thrill!

One author I could meet in person. Hmm…you know I’d love to meet John Grisham. Or also Elizabeth Chadwick. I met Maggie Osborne, but I’d still love to sit down and have a good long chat with her.

  8. Melissa Mc Says:

Congrats, Michelle! Sounds like a fantastic day and you sold all those books!!!

I’d like to meet Stephen King if I could meet one author.

Michelle, brilliant news on the signing! That’s a rite of passage I’m get to go through - probably the literacy signing at Dallas will be my first. And what cool photos! Whoo-hoo to you! The author I would have loved to meet is Dorothy Dunnett who unfortunately passed away a few years ago. Her books are amazing.

Sounds like fun? Do you remember signing my book? LOL! I didn’t come in person, but I ordered through the website.

Right now the author I want to meet is Kelley Armstrong. LaVyrle Spencer would be a great one, though. Love her books!

Alyssa–I did sign some copies through the website-orders, so yes, you’ll get your edition soon. :) Thanks for ordering it!

Michelle, in the photos, you looked so cool standing there next to your books. What a thrill that must of been for you?! Since you have shared your road to publication with all of us at Subcare, it was a thrill, at least for me, to see you standing there. And next to Nora Roberts no less!

I’m sure this is only the first many successful book signings for you! WTG!

    Jamie

  16. Donna Alward Says:
