Missing in Action

Sorry about being AWOL the past few days. I’m trying to wrestle my new proposal to the ground. :typing: I have the editor’s revisions and I made some goofups on the first draft. My nights have been spent trying to convince a hunky Irish warrior to do what I tell him to. My life is so hard sometimes.

So what are you doing for Valentine’s Day? My husband and I are going out to our favorite swanky restaurant, The Regency Room in Colonial Williamsburg. LOVE IT. They even have sommaliers. Now you know you’ve moved a step above Taco Bell when there’s a person dedicated to wine. A good thing, that. We’re celebrating my second sale and also having a night out without the kids. Can’t wait!

Every year I think “This’ll be the year we do something for valentine’s day” and every year when we start to try and make plans we both kind of go “eh.” So…I’ll probably be cooking. Or ordering a pizza.

But my birthday is this month, so that’s our swanky restaurant event for the month. And honestly, I’d rather get birthday presents than something for V-day (though some chocolate wouldn’t go amiss.)

Have fun with the swank and no kiddos! (And good luck wrestling the warrior. ;) )

Having a wine steward wouldn’t do me any good at all since I don’t drink.

I wish I could spend my nights wrestling a hunky Irish warrior to the ground. Maybe that’s what I should do for Valentine’s day. Beats the drinking heavily in a dark room bemoaning my chronically single status that I had originally planned.

Hubby and I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day. I’ve hated that holiday for a long time, even going so far as to wear black in college on Feb. 14th.

We usually stay home on V-day, but this year I got a babysitter and reservations at a nice, new restaurant in town. Hubby really went overboard taking care of me with this latest deadline and I want to do some nice things in return.

Sounds like a good time. We don’t usually do too much. Most times dh is working anyway.

Hub will be working from 9am-7pm, his usual schedule for Wednesdays, so I plan on serving him a nice dinner at home and making a very special dessert. We will probably go out to eat sometime that week to celebrate…with the kids. Yay, us.
