Hooray, a title!
Looks like my second book will end up being titled: The Warrior’s Touch. I like it because it has the double meaning of both the warrior’s hand injuries and also a sensual element. Works for me!
On a good friend’s recommendation, I rented “The Lake House.” Happy sigh.
I figured out the ending within the first five minutes, but it was great to see the journey. One downside of being a writer is that it raises your awareness of each little scene, each little plot device. Nothing is random–everything is planned. So you tend to obsess over the details, but that’s the fun part.
How about you? Are you a good movie guesser or do you just enjoy the ride?
P.S.–I’ve given up on “Troy.” Eric Bana is wonderful, but Orlando should have been skewered in his fight scene. I made it to the halfway point when Achilles seduced the priestess and just about threw a pillow at the tv. If there’s one thing I can’t STAND it’s the trite–”Oh, I hate you, I hate you, you rotten beast, now throw me down and let’s get it on.” Ugh. :blahblah:

Susie Says:
I really like the title of your new book! Much better than anything I could have come up with. When is your first book going to be listed on Amazon?
Michelle Says:
Susie–it’s already listed on Amazon for pre-order. If you go to my Books page, you can click on the Amazon link.
MaryF Says:
I like your title, too!
I didn’t mind Troy, but The Lake House was only meh for me.
Not a movie-figure-outer. The dh is, though, and it drives me nuts!
Bonnie Ferguson Says:
I like the title!!!
Lexi Connor Says:
Sorry Troy didn’t work for you.
Great title!
I dont’ try to figure out movies. Usually I have some ideas, but mainly I just go along for the ride.
Robyn Says:
Aha, you did figure it out. I thought you probably would. It is kind of bad side effect for writers, innit?
I HATED that priestess. She got over the destruction of her home, killing of her people and nearly getting raped pretty quick, didn’t she? :loser:
Rene Says:
Troy was a dopey movie although Eric Bana was sooo fine.
I’m a pretty good movie guesser, drives my husband crazy.
BTW, saw the posting on PM about “Her Irish Warrior.”
Lori Says:
Like the title. (One less thing to worry at the back of the mind).
I did not like Lake House. Annoyed me that they didn’t set up the ability to alter the future somewhere earlier in the movie - could have been done so easily - just a minor something - know what I mean.
I try to just enjoy the ride when I watch a movie - but it’s hard to turn off the brain. As I’ve ruined too many movies for my dh, I no longer share what I think is going to happen - who I think the bad guys are - who someone really is - etc.
I LOVE a movie that plays fair but still manages to surprise me.
