Watching good movies

This weekend, our family finally saw the movie “Cars.” My children were clearly deprived, because we must have been one of the last families on the planet to see it. Great movie! I really enjoyed the message at the end (I won’t give it away, but those of you who’ve seen it, know what I’m talking about). You have a traditional story about a car race, but there’s a greater message about being a better person. Loved. It. :shimmy:

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I am starting to get into the panic mode of Christmas. This is one of the last weeks when I can order stuff online and have it get there by Christmas. I keep wondering if I’ve forgotten anyone (probably). I have visions of being online on Christmas Eve and everything being sold out. I went online to order some things for my husband and sure enough–sold out until January. :hissyfit: Which means I have to go to the mall. Ack.

Then there’s the whole Christmas card thing. My husband and I usually send out in the neighborhood of 65-70 cards a year. We try to write a fun letter, but this year it’s more challenging. I’m thinking that perhaps egg nog and a box of Russell Stover’s chocolate caramels might be a way to get through the writer’s block. :hungry:

What holiday stresses are you running into at this time of year? Or are you pretty relaxed?

Our letter is giving us fits as well, so far it says the following “Merry Christmas! We’re both back in school. Therefore we have no life and have done nothing but homework all year. Hope your life is better. Love, us.” :)

Chocolate and egg nog sound like the right idea - though I think I might skip the egg nog and go straight for the Godiva liquor and coffee. :drunk:

I concur on the chocolate and egg nog :chocolate:

I’m in total panic mode. My shopping is all done, but I still have so many gifts to finish knitting that I can’t foresee how I’m going to do it unless I sick leave. I have an afghan that is only 1/3 done, two pair of big woolies socks, one pair of mittens, a doll blanket and two scarves left to do. And less than two weeks to do it in. AAAHHHH !!!!

    :banghead:

I’m pretty relaxed. I addressed my Christmas cards last night and I’m just waiting for stepson’s school pics to get here so I can put them and my daughter’s pic in the cards. Still have some shopping to do, but I think I know what I’m getting everyone.

Oh yeah - we just bought the movie “Cars” a few weeks ago. It is a GREAT movie. We all love it!

    I haven’t seen Cars yet…

And the panic mode? Yes. I need to drag out the stuff from my closet and see who I’ve forgotten. And I noticed yesterday when trying to order online that some stuff is sold out. And it’s past the date for anything except express $$$$ delivery.

    Next year…

I still haven’t seen the movie. Nor have my children. Bad mommy.

Egg nog all around. Just got my cards picked up from Costco yesterday and wrote my letter. Now to print it, address the envelopes, buy stamps. Forget the eggnog, we need tequila shots.

Why do we do this to ourselves each year? :santa:

    I loved Cars!!!

I haven’t even STARTED my Christmas cards. My ds hasn’t brought home his school pictures, so that’s my excuse. And last night I paid THIRTEEN DOLLARS for shipping a gift because it was already too late to use the shipping option that was half the price! I was sick, I tell you. Sick.

    Oh, I loved “Cars.”

We haven’t done Christmas cards yet. Because of hubby’s business, we send out about 125. Most of them are local, so if I get them out next week, fine. We don’t do letters. The only people who care about what’s up with us live about 8 miles away. My stress right now is trying to figure out how to print mailing labels from Outlook which isn’t working the way it should.
