Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween!
We had a mini-crisis in the household this morning, for which I must thank the local bank. The daycare center that my children attends usually takes the children on a walking field trip down the block to the bank (fortunately there are no streets involved, just a field). The bank gives them trick-or-treat bags. Now normally they do this on the day of the Big Halloween Parade ™ and the kids simply stay in their costumes for a few hours. They changed the date this year and now we were left with the dilemma of whether or not to send them in a costume. Toddlers + Halloween costumes = MESS.
So after much wailing and gnashing of teeth, I decided that we would go with quick costumes. My son could put on his Home Depot construction hat along with a tool belt (which both could be taken off and he’d be left in jeans) and my daughter could be a cowgirl with a hat and vest. Much easier. Only they wouldn’t go for it.
Son: “I want to be a green Power Ranger!”
Me: “You’re going to be that tonight. Now put this on. You’ll look like Bob the Builder.”
Son: “I don’t wanna look like a slob!”
Me: “If you don’t wear this, you’re not wearing a costume at all!”
Son: “I’m going to eat my breakfast really slow so I don’t have to go to school.” :blahblah:
Tonight should be really fun. Sigh.

Oh, Michelle. I feel your pain. I hope the costumes come home in one piece and clean. Hugs.
But no matter what happens have a Happy Halloween!
Melissa Says:
I LOVE your son’s comment…LOL!!! My daughter is a tiger this year.
Rene Says:
I totally feel your pain. When my kids were in daycare, they changed whether they could wear costumes to school from year to year and I was always wrong. They aren’t allowed to wear costumes to public school so I’m safe there.
Susie Says:
Is it just me, or does your daughter look just like you??
Crystal* Says:
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Kids, candy, and time restraints. That right there is THE recipe for fun.

Hahahahaha…that is too funny!
Nicole Reising Says:
Oh my! Kids — Hope everything goes well tonight for you! My youngest is supposed to be Buzz Lightyear which he liked in the store - but now… is afraid of. So we’ll see if he’s going to be anything at all… Have a happy Halloween!

HUGS Michelle.

Susie–’fraid so. I can’t deny my daughter!
But all went well. They enjoyed their trick-or-treating tonight. I tried to drop my daughter off at the house after the halfway point and she would NOT go. Because there was CANDY involved. No way was she going to surrender that.
Cole–Good luck with your son being Buzz. How cute!
