A picture is worth 1000 words
If that were the case, I need to upload some photos to my new manuscript!
Seriously, though. I have about 19,000 words left to write. I keep thinking that I’ll come up short, but I imagine once I flesh out the scenes (pun intended), I may well end up with the length I need.
Just thought I’d share a few photographs of our weekend.
Here is my daughter enjoying life in the sand. And then we saw about 15-20 dolphins swimming around.
Yes, I know it looks like a shark. At least, I keep TELLING myself it’s a dolphin.
We will think happy thoughts on the beach. Oh, and speaking of sharks. . .
here are my husband and son goofing it up at the aquarium.
Have a happy 4th of July! If you go to the beach, try not to get eaten or anything.

Happy July 4th, Michelle

I’m told shark fins come straight down at the back, while dolphin fins kind of point backwards. Also told that sharks have a straight up and down fin sticking up from their tail, which might show above the water, while dolphins have horizontal tail fins (flukes?)
Not absolutely certain of the veracity of the above facts, but it would appear that your picture is, indeed, a dolphin, by those standards.

Stephanie Says:
Good luck with the rest of the word count… You can do it!
Your kids are adorable, btw. But I’m sure you know that
Danica Says:
Can I squish your daughter’s cute little cheeks?
Peggy Says:
Happy 4th of July, Michelle!
Kelly Says:
Have I mentioned my intense sharkaphobia? If I saw that I would have been so far off that beach I’d be in the next county. I wouldn’t have even waited to find out if it was a dolphin. Yikes!

Tori Lennox Says:
I love the pictures, Michelle!!! Your kids are so cute.
Stacy Says:
Happy 4th of July to you all. What cuties!
Rene Says:
What a little cutie! I love watching little ones on the beach….particularly if they aren’t mine. Can’t sit back and bury yourself in a book when you have to watch your kids.
I’m pretty good at word counts on my WIP’s. I’m not sure why, I think its that latent math gene I supposedly have. Good luck, 19K isn’t that bad.
LauraP Says:
Beach baby! So cute!
beth Says:
Cute pictures! And there is no question that those kiddos belong to you and hubby.
I don’t think they looked as much like the two of you the last time I saw them. (Though I’ll admit to that being eons ago.) Beach looks like fun - I second the dolphin estimation. If only because I deny the reality of sharks. Deny. Deny. Deny. One cannot SCUBA dive if one is terrified of sharks and sharks exist. As I don’t see the terror going anywhere any time soon and I enjoy diving, then clearly sharks just don’t exist. Right?:rotfl:
Melissa Says:
Adorable photos, Michelle! I haven’t been to the beach in years - last time was in California and that was high school!
Bren Says:
What a cute little beach bunny. I would be terrified to go in the water, too.
Way to go on the manuscript. 19,000 words is not that bad, especially considering I have about 30,000.
April Says:
What a cutie pie!
And whatever you do… Don’t go into the water!
Usually you’ll see dolphins jumping, if that’s what they are. At least here you do.
