Dot Moms and the 4th of July

Today’s post is over at Dot Moms. I am whipped. We took five children and four adults to the Virginia Aquarium today. Lots of fun, and we had a picnic at the park afterwards. The children, of course, did not nap. Why would they? Too much to see and do.

My son loved the sharks, but one of my favorites is the fish tanks. I love to just sit and watch the fish. It’s very relaxing.

Tonight’s menu: grilled ribs, hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, and peach pie for dessert. Anyone want to come for dinner? :hungry:

No real writing was done the past two days, due to family obligations. And if any editors or agents are reading this, of course I’m going to get my book done next month. Ahem.

We will not be watching fireworks AGAIN this year. Sigh. Something about keeping toddlers up past ten o’clock, you know. Very sad. I miss those days. But we would have screaming demons on our hands, so hubby and I will just stand out on the back deck and hope for the best. Yes, I know we are SO pitiful.

What about you? Any plans for the 4th of July?

What time should we be there for supper??:hungry:

Ugh, I know. The only difference is we stand on our front porch:whistle:

I’m so there for dinner…save me some peach pie!!

We’re doing NOTHING over our 4 day weekend. And I want it that way!!

Michelle, I’d love to come for dinner – it all sounds great! As for the 4th of July, no fireworks this year for me either. Mainly, I plan to sleep in. Boring, I know, but a nice choice from a shrieking alarm. Have a great week-end!

Dang it, I missed the pie.

Um…can we borrow your excuse for not having any 4th plans? Cause without kids, I think it just makes us lame to not be there. Though we may try to score some last minute tickets to minor league baseball game – and they do fireworks (really pretty good ones, too) afterward.

Not sure what we’ll be doing on the 4th – watching fireworks somewhere, I imagine. I doubt we’ll grill out, but who knows what hubby wants to do.

Me? I’m in the midst of edits and have to write a synopsis this weekend, too.

Never fear, Michelle…your day will come and the kids will be old enough for fireworks and then comes the time when you go to bed and they stay up! Enjoy your fourth of July celebrations. We always enjoyed them when we lived over there.

  7. Melissa Mc Says:

With I could come to dinner. Enjoy the fourth! And I hear you on the no writing. Summer is brutal to my productivity.
