A nibble of interest…
Well, to counteract the agency decline from last weekend, I e-mailed my revised book to the new agency. They read it the same night. Yes, I know. I fell over in shock, too.
Do you see that ridiculous grin on my face? The agent wrote back that my book was “the most promising romance manuscript I’ve read this year.” She stayed up late to finish reading it.

Hey, I take my crumbs where I can get them. She did say that the book needed some revising, particularly with the heroine. They’re not sure if they have the time or ability to work with me on revisions (the down side). But you know, the e-mail she sent was one of the best confidence boosters I’ve ever received. I’m always happy to revise work. I don’t know if this story will have a happy ending and an offer of representation or not, but I’m still smiling.
What a great day!

I don’t think I would call an agent telling me she stayed up late last night reading my submission because she couldn’t put it down… a nibble. That’s awesome!!:crazyjumping:

Kelly–they thought that the heroine needed to be more sympathetic. I think if I show more of her emotions in certain parts, I can pull it off.
Thanks guys! We’ll see what happens!
Amy K. Says:
I’m late but congrats on the great feedback, Michelle! I’m crossing my fingers they snap you and your manuscript up!

[...] Cue the flashback: Remember this post where I mentioned that I was chatting with an agent? (Still reeling in shock that she read it in one day.) Anyway, I mentioned that–hey! I’ll be in Atlanta. Maybe we could get together. Honestly, I wasn’t really expecting anything to come of it. Agents are really busy, and conferences can be insane with the number of authors they have to meet. [...]
