Blast from the Past
I got to thinking about some of my favorite TV shows when I was growing up. Thought I’d see if any of you could name some of them.
1. First of all, I enjoyed this showwhen I was 4. Completely addicted. This is easy.
2. Can you name this one?
3. Or this one?
4. How about this?
5. Did you watch this one?
6. This one is going to be hard for U.S. folks. For my friends in the UK, you’ll probably recognize it. I lived in England from 1984-1986 and I watched this show regularly. It was so bad! And so addictive!

Okay, name those shows! What did you enjoy watching as a kid?

Stacy Says:
Okay, I know Land of the Lost and the pink lady looks sooooo familier. I got He-man, I used to love She-ra too and the Brady Bunch of course. I actually know the last one (Canada gets a lot of UK stuff) but I can’t remember the name! It was hilarious though!:rotfl:
Kelly Says:
Wow…Land of the Lost…Gem and teh Hollograms??…He-Man…Cindy Brady and I’m not sure on the last one but it looks familiar.
beth Says:
I adored the Electric Company also — and 1, 2, 3, Contact.
Yeah, Land of the Lost (another family fav.), I’m pretty sure she’s not Jem (w/ or w/o her Hollograms - though I loved that show also), but I also can’t come up with a better suggestion. He-Man is easy as are the Bradys - watched them both.
And boy is that bird weird looking.
Robyn Says:
Number 6- didn’t he bring the emu puppet on Johnny Carson once, and wound up pinning Carson to the desk? That guy was hysterical!
Melissa Says:
Land of the Lost! I remember watching that.
Did anyone watch Miriam the Librarian? It was on my PBS station.
Crystal* Says:
I recognize all of them but the last one. And he looks familiar.
This is so funny because one of my friends and I were talking about The Land of the Lost the other day. I remember those freaky things were called sleestaks (sic?) and the furry thing’s name was Chaka.
She absolutely rolled. But I tend to keep all that useless sh*t close.
I also LOVED Electric Company. SpiderMan. And Letterman. My sister used to have nightmares about the bad guy on that one. *rolling*
Those were the good ol’ days.
Can anyone say “Schoolhouse Rock”?

Tori Lennox Says:
Oh, I loved the Electric Company!
2. Land of the Lost - loved it back then, saw it again fairly recently and discovered it hadn’t aged well. *g*
3. no clue…
4. Conan? Or is it He-Man?
5. That’s Cindy Brady of The Brady Bunch, isn’t it?
6. no clue, yet again
I was always hooked on Speed Racer.
So I always get a giggle when Trixie tells Speed she got a good rate on her insurance with Geico.
Michelle Says:
Okay, yes on the Electric Company.
2. Land of the Lost–weren’t the special effects HORRIBLE?? It’s a scream now, but I was truly scared then.
3. It’s not Jem and the Hollograms–keep guessing! Hint–it was modeled after the Three Musketeers.
4. He-Man is right.
5. Yep, that’s the Brady Bunch
6. You’re right–it’s Emu, but that’s not the name of the show. Keep trying!
Tori–Oh, I watched Speed Racer, too! That was such a fun show.
Rene Says:
I loved Electric Company. But I worshiped “Land of the Lost” I can still remember the music. Rumor has it they are going to make it into a movie with Will Farrell. Loved those Sleestaks. The other ones were after my time. I watche “Josie and the Pussycats” & “H.R. Pufnstuff.” I loved “The Bugaloos.”
I remember the guy with the emu. I think he did “Hollywood Squares.” Now this is embarrassing. When I was a kid, we all watched “Hee Haw.”
Crystal* Says:
Rene: Where oh where, are you tonight? Why did you leave me here all alone?
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO
Grins*
Michelle Says:
Crystal–I searched the world over and thought I found true love. You met another and pbbbt! you were gone. Yes, I loved Hee Haw, too.
Okay, the answers:
1. Electric Company
2. Land of the Lost
3. Spaceketeers (I wanted to be Princess Aurora)
4. He-Man
5. The Brady Bunch
6. Emu’s All-Live Pink Windmill Show. It was Rod Hudson and Emu.
MaryF Says:
LOL, I loved Land of the Lost, too. Never really liked The Brady Bunch. Come to think of it, I don’t remember WHAT cartoons I liked, only The Bugs Bunny Show.
Sad to be old
Stacy Says:
I don’t see the picture for the Electric Company? I loved that show but to be honest the big, tall African-American scared the bejeezes out of me….the funny part is now I absolutely LOVE Morgan Freeman.
Rene Says:
Thanks Michelle & Chrys, I will now be singing that song in my head for the next few days.
