Favorite Breakfasts

This morning I awoke to a 23-month-old voice chirping, “Hi, Mommy! Mommy, supper!” I dragged my head up and read 5:43 a.m. on the clock. :sleepy2: Too early. I tried to pull her into bed for some snuggle time, hoping she would go back to sleep. Instead, she jerked my eyelids open and demanded, “Supper, Mommy! Eat, eat, eat!” (She cannot yet pronounce the word “breakfast.”)

So I dragged myself downstairs, threw some Raisin Bran in a bowl and tried to grab five more minutes of sleep on the couch while Her Royal Highness ate her cereal. Why is it that children must have your attention at every waking and SLEEPING moment? :duh:

Anyway, after I resigned myself to the fact that sleeping in was not going to be an option on this fine Sunday morning, I made one of our family breakfast favorites: Belgian waffles with strawberries (okay, frozen) and whipped cream. Mmmm..:hungry:

What’s your favorite weekend/special breakfast?

going out to breakfast Sunday morning is our traditions!:hungry:

    Yum!
My hubby is a meat and potatoes man so about once a month I cook him up scrambled eggs, sausages, hashbrowns, toast and orange juice.:fryingpan:

In all honesty…I’m with Mary. But if I cook, it’s French toast, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs with cheese, and turkey bacon. LOL
Can you hear our arteries harden? And every once in awhile I’ll make breakfast for dinner. Amazingly enough, not many dishes go with this.

The closest I come to cooking breakfast is tossing two Pop-Tarts in the toaster (chocolate fudge, if you’re curious :)). If somebody else is cooking I won’t say no to pancakes or French toast.

Btw, are you sure want a third kid? :rotfl:

I’m with Mary. I’d rather go out. But since I hate going out with the kids, I do make breakfast. I like to make homemade sausage gravy and biscuits. I will make homemade Belgian waffles but they aren’t my favorite to eat.

    Oooh waffles sound yummy :chocolate:

I love the eggs and toast and sideorder breakfast :fryingpan: And a cup of hot chocolate to go with it never hurt :coffee2:

I love to go out and eat breakfast - and it depends on the mood I’m in as to what I eat. Sometimes I want pancakes and sausage, other times I want hashbrowns, sausage, eggs, and toast with lots of jelly. Yum…that sounds REALLY good right now!!!:hungry:

    YUM!!

My favorite breakfast-it’s this dish at a restaurant my friend and I like to visit. The dish is called Chilaquiles, and I have yet to duplicate it in my kitchen. I keep missing something.

Mmm…you guys are making me hungry. One of the most unique breakfasts we make sometimes at our house is Crepes. I think the original recipe was supposed to be Crepes Suzette, but I have no clue what kind of sauce that is. It’s some sort of sweet orange sauce, but it’s pretty tasty.

And I agree–the best breakfast is going out to eat!:shimmy:

Mmm…belguim waffles. Now I have a craving. My favorite special breakfast is what I like to call the Barrel O’ Breakfast. It’s pancakes, bacon, sausage, waffles, toast, little mini quiches and taters. You basically don’t need to eat for 12 days afterwards.

We’re a waffles family - but we put vanilla sauce on them. Mmm.

Now I want waffles for dinner. Hm.

You know, I don’t think I should have read this at 10:30PM. Now I want waffles! :hungry:

I’m not usually awake enough in the morning to make breakfast. :coffee: But if something spry hits me on a weekend, I like to make pancakes. They’re easy and they’re loaded with carbs… Yum! :woot:
