My Life is Complete

When you get married, everyone says you can’t change the person. You have to love them as they are, through thick and thin.

This is true. But sometimes they surprise you with nice things. So this post is dedicated to my husband who ACTUALLY WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE TONIGHT WHEN I WAS OUT OF PINEAPPLE! :worthy:

I’m thinking that one of several things happened.
1. He really wanted pineapple with his ham. :hungry:
2. He needed some other things at the grocery store. Ha! ‘Scuse me. :rotfl: I think the last time he went to the grocery store to shop was 7 years ago. He is a Zen shopper. I am List Girl. I’m not sure he’s aware that ice cream costs more than $2.36 a half-gallon.
3. He was being a nice guy.
4. He wanted to buy a lottery ticket, strike it rich, and move to Bora Bora. :woot:
5. More likely, he just was ticked because we didn’t have pineapple, and BY GOD, there can’t be ham without pineapple. The apocalypse would happen, the refrigerator would split in half, and our daughter’s head would spin around.

Oh wait. That already happened on Sunday when she started pulling a Linda Blair under the pews. Righto.

Anyway, honey, this one’s for you. Thanks for going to the grocery store. You rock!

I know this may blow every woman who reads this completely off her rocker, but my husband usually buys the groceries for our household every single week. Yup, we make a list, I send him off with the calculator, and he does the shopping.:confused2: It’s a huge, immense relief to me because I HATE going into Wally World on the weekends. He say she doesn’t mind at all.

I mean to say, “He says he doesn’t mind it at all.” Sheesh! I need to proof my posts!

Aw, this is nice, since I’ve been in a fight with my husband all day.

You know, the sad thing is we think it’s such a big deal when our dh goes to the grocery store “for us”. :fryingpan: Kind of like when we say the dh “babysat” the kids for us…

We women are weird ducks :confused2:

I bet he just really wanted the pineapple….

  7. Emma Sinclair Says:

I make my DH go to the grocery store with me. That way he can’t blame me when we don’t have something.

Plus, I hate the grocery store so if I have to go I figure he should be miserable with me.

Major kudos to the dh, Michelle!

But, gosh, we NEVER have pineapple with ham….

  9. Rene Says:

When I send my dh to the store, he usually ends up with double the amount of stuff we need. Or I ask him to pick up something so he buys three of the item. And there’s the “look, honey, this was on sale.” He buys stuff we don’t need or want, but it was on sale.

    Oh WOW! :confused2:
Who the heck cares WHY he did it? Let’s just all rejoice that he did! :woot:
    Enjoy, woman!
    Grins*

    Yay for the hubby!!

You know, my hubby is always willing to go - but it takes me longer to write out the list I have in my head than it would to just go. But when I need an emergency supply he’ll run out for me no problem.

Were we talking canned pineapple or fresh though? Cause if he picked out a fresh pineapple properly, he’s the master. (And I need pointers!)

How sweet of your hubby! Don’t analyze motives, just be thankful! My hubby doesn’t mind running to the grocery store, usually. He’d probably do the regular shopping too, but we’d end up with a pantry full of food with 40g of fat per serving. His metabolism is on high and he has no concept of “healthy” Hmmm… wonder where the 30 pounds I’ve gained since we got married last may have come from…

LOL, I needed a good laugh. Good for you. Sometimes its the little things that make it all worth while!

How funny, we were just talking about this at lunch today. How unfair it is that this is ANOTHER thing we’re expected to do.

Yay for your hubby! But Kasey’s right.
