Naked Girl

The toilet training has commenced. :woot: I started this past weekend, very gradually, and I am proud to say that my darling daughter has learned to pee on command. Man, what a moment. :rotfl: The things we mothers love. Now there are, of course, times when she chooses to baptize her underwear rather than the toilet, but hey, it’s a start. She seems to like the power trip.

She has also mastered another skill, one which horrified my husband. I was out chaperoning the band concert at the time. My husband informed the children that they could watch the Charlie Brown Christmas special and gathered them in the living room. He remarked that he was going to use the bathroom and when he returned, he found my daughter naked in the hallway. Apparently she decided that she wanted to go, too, and managed to strip herself. Which, I’ll admit, is pretty impressive for a 19-month-old, considering it was a zip-up pajama set with footies. She even removed the diaper. When he asked if she needed to go, she bobbed her head in agreement furiously. Did she go? Nope. But by golly, she learned how to take her clothes off. :shimmy:

Now stripping isn’t, of itself, a bad thing. It leads to them being able to dress themselves and be more independent. The problem is that my children like to PRACTICE. You turn your back and WHAMMO! Naked children. We used to tuck our son into bed at night and whisper as we kissed him, “Keep your clothes on.”

Guess there’s someone else in the household who will need that little reminder. Just as long as she doesn’t see it as a future career, I think we’re okay.

LOL! That’s a fun stage, or at least it’s one I can look back on now and laugh about. I had an awful time keeping clothes on my older daughter the summer she was three. Clothes were just too confining for her.

Stripping is a great stage, It usually lasts longer when the weather is hot.
I used to be able to tell the time by the amount of clothes my children had on…

Too funny. I found out my son was stripping, at age 2, when a neighbor knocked on the door and said, “Your little boy is standing at his window…naked.”

  4. Peggy Says:

My middle child was a naked girl too. Hated clothes.

My daughter is three and she still takes her clothes off all the time. We are really struggling with potty training. She showed promise at 18 mos. but the whole issue has become a battle ground. She is finally showing interest in big girl underwear but she is being stubborn. She likes being the baby and that’s what she is going to be, damn it. :hissyfit:

I don’t have little ones any more around the house but this sure brought back memories.

Your poor husband. Men do tend to freak when they think their baby girls might end up working for Hefner based on their actions as a toddler, no? :whip:

My son went through the naked stage at around five. (okay, so he’s late.) He would come out of the bathroom after his shower, drop his towel, turn around, and shake his booty. “Mom, look!” Yeah, like I didn’t get a good enough look the previous four years of wiping poop. It was quite funny, but we had to put a stop to it. We called him NakedButtBoy for awhile. Now at 9, he is so embarrassed for anyone to see him partially clothed that he gets upset if I walk in the bathroom while he’s in the shower–behind the curtain! Tell your hub that as long as she doesn’t change her name to Kitty Starlight, she should be okay. :shimmy:

Good luck with the toilet training. My youngest prefers to be naked so she can do her “naked bottom” dance. We have videotaped it and boy, will she be embarrassed when she’s older! :headspin:

I don’t think my daughter ever went through the naked phase. But the toilet-training was a battle, too. I’m so glad that is behind us!

Glad that you’re making great progress on it!:crazyjumping:
