Halloween Costumes

My eldest is now getting excited about Halloween. Okay, he was excited at the beginning of September, but now he’s REALLY excited. He wants to be Yoda from Star Wars. :starwars: We ordered a costume and when it arrived at Grandma’s house, we went to visit and she hemmed it for him.

When he first saw the mask, he shrieked and backed into the wall. I don’t know what he was expecting, but he freaked out. When we tried to let him wear it, he started yelling, “No no no no!” :hissyfit:

He does love the Jedi robe and pants, so he’ll basically be a young Paduan learner for Halloween. No mask. Although I personally thought it would have been a great costume, seeing as my son is only three feet tall. Last year we gave him a glow stick and he pretended it was a light saber. He adored it and went to sleep with it. :sleepy2:

My daughter is another matter. I have no clue how to dress her. She’s not really old enough to go trick-or-treating, though I’ll probably put her in the stroller just for kicks. Maybe drop her back off at the house and let her help Dad hand out candy. My husband swears he’s going to turn off all the lights once we leave and pretend no one’s home. Hey, more candy for him…

What are your kids going to dress as?

I remember the year my youngest dd was a witch and I painted her face green and black and she took one look in the mirror and started crying in fear. My ds will probably wear the lion costume he had last year. Oldest has booked the day off work so she can take him…and snare all the goodies! Not sure what the other is planning to be yet!

When my daughter was one, she was the Disney Hunny pot. It was so heavy and bulky it kept tipping her over.

This year at 6 she’s the new Pegasas Princess.

At 7, my son is a bionicle. The one Star Wars outfit he wanted was totally sold out. :( And I thought we bought costumes early this year.

I had a cool tweety bird costume for one of my most memorable Halloweens. :hello2:

I so lucked out for Halloween this year. Both of them want to be the Wiggles. Black pants, red and blue turtleneck, a scanned logo cut out and slapped to their chest and voila!! Done. I love my kids!

    We’re still deciding between a frog and a chick…

My mom made me a homemade ET costume when I was a kid (about ET’s height). It was perfect, as long as I couldn’t see myself in the mirror. Then I started to cry.

Sounds like a plan to me. ROFL.

Bay is going to be a unicorn rider. Last year, she was a unicorn. The year before, she was a zebra. Get the picture. Dunno what we’ll do for Kay.

I have no kids, but Yoda is so cute. Too bad the mask scared him.

hm, I’m thinking of stealing your dh’s idea and turning out the lights..Then I won’t have to buy candy and EAT it all week long…

My daughter will be Cinderella. I think I’m going to try and fix her hair really cute (if she’ll let me). My twelve-year-old…well, he might be getting a little too old for the whole Halloween thing.

I don’t think my “kids” (ages 22 and 28) are dressing up, but I need to come up with a costume for myself for a management meeting I have at work on the 31st, something I can slip into at the designated time.:???:
