Reasons to Celebrate

Multiple reasons to celebrate today:

1. We have a brand spankin’ new dishwasher in our house. No more handwashed dishes! I have a new respect for pioneer women. I could not have survived their lifestyle. Not just having to wash dishes, churn your own butter, carve your own dishes out of the stump in the backyard, and plow the back 40…it’s the barefoot and pregnant part I would have died over. I’m teaching this era now in school and after reading about a woman who bore 11 children . . . well, let’s just say that most likely the corner general store had permanent displays of maternity wear. Yikes.

2nd reason to celebrate: Notre Dame is winning against Purdue, 28 to zero at the half. Lord, Charlie Weis gives me heart attacks with some of the plays he calls. Our team has been known to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. Here’s a picture of my son, with a reaction of “Doh!” as our team tries another play.Doh!

3rd reason to celebrate: I am finished with my revisions and will mail the book next week! I feel good about it, too. I still want to do a final read-through and make sure I didn’t do anything dumb, but I think the majority of it is solid.

Yahoo on the revisions. That’s great news.

My dishwasher is dying. Lowe’s has a nice Bosch on clearance and I’m trying to get hubby to go buy it for me. He’s pretty handy at installing dishwashers so I know he could get it in for me pretty quick.

BTW, my great-grandmother had 14 kids. We figured she had her last child when she was 48. At least she had lots of “dishwashers” :???:

    Michelle,
Woo-hoo and howdy do! Way to go! I want to be you when I grow up. That means finishing a book and actually having to do revisions.:cheer:

When I was preggers the first time, my hub would say things like, “Just think about what the women on the Oregon Trail had to go through. You really shouldn’t complain, honey,” and other such ill-advised comments. I finally had enough and told him I would meet out my own brand of Wild West Justice on him if he uttered one more thing about the women on the Oregon Trail. :fryingpan: He got the point.

Just putting this smiley here because my son likes it. :starwars:
