Reasons to Celebrate
Multiple reasons to celebrate today:
1. We have a brand spankin’ new dishwasher in our house. No more handwashed dishes!
I have a new respect for pioneer women. I could not have survived their lifestyle. Not just having to wash dishes, churn your own butter, carve your own dishes out of the stump in the backyard, and plow the back 40…it’s the barefoot and pregnant part I would have died over. I’m teaching this era now in school and after reading about a woman who bore 11 children . . . well, let’s just say that most likely the corner general store had permanent displays of maternity wear. Yikes.
2nd reason to celebrate: Notre Dame is winning against Purdue, 28 to zero at the half. Lord, Charlie Weis gives me heart attacks with some of the plays he calls. Our team has been known to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. Here’s a picture of my son, with a reaction of “Doh!” as our team tries another play.
3rd reason to celebrate: I am finished with my revisions and will mail the book next week!
I feel good about it, too. I still want to do a final read-through and make sure I didn’t do anything dumb, but I think the majority of it is solid.
