Good CD choices!!

I remember chaperoning those dances - and I don't know if your students dance the same way mine did, but let me tell you, the whole, dancing like you're having sex, is just a little too much to watch 8th graders doing. I used to threaten that I was going to take pictures of them dancing like that and send them to their parents. And then I'd tell them what the nuns who taught me in 8th grade would say during our dances - leave room for the Holy Spirit.

I am another person who absolutely LOVES to dance but has absolutely NO rhythm! I chaperone dances and dance to all the Electric Slide versions. That's about all I'll attempt in front of my middle schoolers. They've even told me (during a huge gigling fit) that I can't dance! I just said, "I know, but I don't care!)

As for types of music, I can listen to anything but jazz and opera. I love heavy metal, some rap, Celtic, classical, hip-hop...pretty much anything except those two.

I love to dance, and yes, I suck at it, too, but you know, it's what makes the Harlequin party fun for me. A whole room of women, most of whom suck at dancing, getting their groove on, and because we're not there to impress a bunch of sleezy bar crawlers, we just have a ton of fun. :)

A Hollaback girl... it's the name of Gwen Stefani's latest song on the radio. Um, I think someone explained it a while back, and I can't remember exactly, but if you google Hollaback girl, you can find the song lyrics and figure it out. Which is what I did, LOL

Add me to those who love to dance (even though I'm not especailly good at it)! :dancingfool:

And I love lots of different styles of music. I get Sirius satellite radio on Dish Network and I made one of my "favorites lists" just the music stations I listened to the most. Hard rock, Alternative Rock, 80s (this is the one I listen to the most), country, bluegrass, Dance Club Mix, Disco, Swing Bands, Broadway hits. And I also love Celtic music.. Wish they had a channel just for that!

I love to dance too. And I'm not good at it either. I love the Breakaway and L.A.M.B. CD's. Great music. I just bought Back Street Boys and Ashlee Simpson.

Nothing wrong with loving to dance at sixth grade dances!

I love all sorts of music, as well. I want to get Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway, but haven't yet. Also love big band music of the 1940's, Frank Sinatra, Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, and, um, Metallica (that one is my husband's fault.) I also like some country music, and Loreena McKennit is my absolute FAVORITE music to write to.
